Alicia Hill Thomas
Alicia Hill Thomas began her
career teaching in Edgewood ISD and taught for many years in North East ISD
where she also served as a Principal and Executive Director. For ten
years, Alicia Thomas was the Associate Superintendent and Chief Instructional
Officer in North East. In August 2012, Dr. Thomas retired as the Deputy
Chief Academic Officer for Houston ISD. She received her B.A. and M.Ed.
from Trinity University and her Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin
where she was a Fellow in the Cooperative Superintendency Program. In
1994, she received the national Harold W. McGraw Prize in Education for her
work with the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching.
Currently, Alicia Thomas is an
adjunct professor in the Tomorrow’s Leaders Masters in School
Administration Program at Trinity University and is a consultant for Moak,
Casey & Associates, School Finance and Accountability Experts.
