Dr. Alicia Thomas, Consultant
Dr. Alicia Thomas earned her Ph.D. from The University of Texas at Austin in the Cooperative Superintendency Program. In 1994, she won the Harold W. McGraw National Prize in Education, and for 12 years she has served as an adjunct professor in Trinity University’s Tomorrow’s Leaders program. Since beginning her career in 1972 as a teacher in the Edgewood Independent School District, Dr. Thomas served as a teacher, principal, Executive Director and Associate Superintendent/Chief Instructional Officer for North East ISD prior to moving to the Houston Independent School District where she was Chief Academic Officer. During Dr. Thomas’ tenure as the Chief Instructional Officer for North East, the district achieved the Recognized rating for eight years.
