Inflation and other forces are pushing the costs of providing public education higher each year. However, the Texas school finance system is not structured in a way to offset these rising costs, leaving school leaders to face difficult decisions as their budgets get tighter. ESSER funds have helped alleviate this problem to some extent in the short-term, but Texas school districts need a system that will sustain them into the future. In this session, school finance experts at MoakCasey will identify key investments that public education advocates will need to push for during the upcoming legislative session to set Texas on a more sustainable path.
