The House Public Education
Committee is currently meeting today to hear numerous bills,
including the layout of the committee substitute for Chairman Aycock’s school
finance proposal, HB 1759. There was no
public testimony on the new language today, but Chairman Aycock plans on having
a separate hearing next week to discuss this proposal in more detail. He suggested that any funding requests from organizations or associations be brought to him that make changes to the committee substitute, not just a request for new funding for a specific issue.
The new proposed language for
the school finance bill and the Legislative Budget Board Printouts can be
found at the site listed below. Moak,
Casey & Associates is currently analyzing the bill language and will have our model and a more detailed summary to our clients first thing tomorrow.
